Sprint Triathlon 750 mts/20 km/5km

The logistics of this event will allow both the public and the participant to interact within a tighter space what a triathlon is all about since it will be in the form of a short circuit in a zone of great exposure due to its proximity to the public beach and road. The public will be aligned comfortably along Herrera Bridge allowing them the opportunity to enjoy the development of the event as well as each one of the three disciplines unwraps.

Swimming – The swimming part of the event Hill take place off Herrera Bridge. Triathletes will star at the shore of the beach in a designated areas where they will depart running into the water as the departure horn is blown. Once in the water, they will swim towards the left turning at the halfway marked buoy. They will then turn left again and turn back until they reach the start at the shore, thus completing 750 meters. This will be a great spectacle because the public will be able to comfortably view from the shore as the swimming section unfolds.

Cycling - Starting at an area designated in the parking of the Villa Pesquera, the transition area between the swim part and the cycling part Hill take place. Once again, the public will be able to appreciate how fast triathletes move from the swim to the bike where they will head towards Piñones westbound until they have reached the halfway mark where they will return to the Herreras Bridge section again in order to move to the running part of the Sprint. The route is expected to be closed in order to guarantee the security of all athletes.

Running – This final stage ot the competition will start at the Villa Pesquera transition area again where once they lay their bikes down they will run eastbound towards the Mediania community of Loiza. Participants will run, as was the case of the cycling section, through State Road Number 187 until the halfway mark where they will turn back completing 5 km at the finish line that will be positioned in the Herrera Bridge section.

Note: In order to secure proper timing for all participants, all matts will be equipped with Champion Chip technology. This SPRINT event is targeted to a novice and/or younger audience that wishes to experience a triathlon for the first time.

In order to assure participants that this event will be competitive, if the number of participants is not achieved, the directors then reserve the right to postpone the event for a future date and all registration fees will be reimbursed. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THE HALFIRON DISTANCE 70.3 WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE REGARDLESS THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS.
