PR HALFIRON 3K Open Water Swim

Saturday, April 19, 2008
Starting at 6:30 am

This event has been designed for the swimming “aficionados”, both Masters as well as Amateurs and will take place at the Herrera Bridge as is the case of the other events that have swimming. In the open water event, participants will cover the distance by swimming in two loops, one of 2 km and the second loop of 1 km. The route will provide spectators the opportunity to see the entire race unfold both from the shore and from the bridge. Champion Chip system will be used in order to guarantee accurate timing and no swimmer will be allowed in the area without this chip. The route will be marked with visible bouys and every turn will be made from right to left.

Note: Every athlete that requires assistance will raise a hand an a nearby volunteer in a number of floating and powered devices will promptly assist you. It should be mentioned that this event will be divided into categories similar to those in the Masters and Swimming Federation of Puerto Rico.
